Professional Development Committee
 
     
   Purpose
     
  The Professional Development Committee shall be charged with the planning, direction and execution of symposia, workshops, and training activities for the Association. The committee will work closely with the Training Committee which will carry out many of the specific activities. The Committee also will coordinate with the President and Corporate Support Committee to be certain that the goals of the Committee match well with the financial support that can be garnered for training and conferences. The Committee is further charged with the responsibility to raise revenue in excess of the costs of its activities, as such revenue is vital to the financial health of the association.  
 
   Duties
     
  1. The Chair shall schedule committee meetings to plan the Winter Conference, Summer Conference, Support Staff Workshops, Financial Aid 101 Workshop Series and any other training activities requested by the MSFAA President.


2.. The Chair shall coordinate with Program and Site Chairs for each conference.

3. In conjunction with the Treasurer, the Chair shall verify all financial activity resulting from the Committee’s activities.

4. The Chair shall coordinate with the Site Selection Committee for conference and various workshop sites.

5. Assist the Training Committee with any one-time training programs or workshops and determine the viability of providing materials, refreshments, etc.

6. The Chair shall prepare an annual budget for the committee.
 
 
   Membership
     
  The President will appoint a Chair (or Co-Chairs) for the Committee from the MSFAA membership. The Chair(s) will be responsible for selecting additional members, if needed, from MSFAA member institutions. The Training Committee Chair(s) serves as ex officio committee members.
